This is the third directorial venture of Midhun Manuel Thomas. He had made his debut here writing the screenplay of the much appreciated Jude Antony Joseph directorial movie named Om Shanti Oshana.
This film revolves around a shelf or an Alamaara and that is the unique thing about this movie. The central characters named Arun and Swati were played by Sunny Wayne and Aditi Ravi. Their marriage and the traditional customs related to marriage in our Kerala society is the focus point in this movie. The flick tells us how relationships goes forward in our modern society and how others play spoil sport in family relations with their untimely and unnecessary advices and reactions on certain issues. In this plot, all those revolves around an Alamara. Once again, Midhun Manuel Thomas proved that he is a film maker who can judge the pulse of the audience and just like his last film, he had done a very good job by presenting before us a feel good entertainer with all its freshness. The plot of this flick is very simple and they had made a really good pleasant movie out of it and which have to be appreciated. First of all we have to give an applause to Mahesh Gopal who had written this unique story and John Mathirickal who had created the perfect situations in the screenplay to make this a highly entertaining flick. Midhun Manuel Thomas, who is an experience film maker now, had showed his craft by giving a super cool visual language to the screenplay. From the casting onwards, Midhun had showed his class.
The performance from artists is another factor which make this movie a really good one. Sunny Wayne once again did a super job and he was really cool as Arun. His performance had become matured and his reactions are becoming more natural now. The growth is evident as an actor. New Face Aditi Ravi was superb as well. She will never make us feel that she is a newcomer and it was a composed performance from her. Aju Varghese and Renji Panicker stole the show at many moments and Saiju Kuruppu, Manikandan Achari, Indrans, Sudhi Koppa etc done a fabulous job as well. Everybody together made it a very enjoyable affair with their flawless performance. DOP was Satheesh Kuruppu and hid did his best with some great visuals. Sorrej S Kuruppu is the one who tuned the music. Songs were beautiful and the background scoring was too good as well. Lijo Paul edited the movie and once again he had shown why he has been called as one of the best we have here in Mollywood.
Alamara is a movie which you can’t miss if you want to watch a movie which is down to earth, fresh and entertaining. It is a movie that can make you happy and satisfied for sure.
