Ore Mukham is the major release here in Mollywood today starring young actor Dhyan Sreenivasan in lead role. This one is the debut directorial venture of Sajith Jagadnandan and it was written by Deepu S Nair and Sandeep Sadanandan as well. Jayalal Menon and Anil Biswas had produced this campus thriller under the banner of Backwater Studio and it was distributed here by the popular banner named Magic Frames. Prayaga Martin, Gayathri Suresh, Jewel Mary etc played the female lead roles in this movie, which has actors like Aju Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Deepak Parambol etc as well in it.
The plot of this movie revolves around the character played by Dhyan Sreenivasan named Zachariah Pothan. The plot began to move forward when a major murder case began to take the investigating officer to another case that was closed years before and the suspicion leads them towards Zachariah Pothen and the campus in which he studied. A major chunk of the plot is set in the 1980’s as well. We had seen many movies here which comes under the category of Campus Thrillers and the blockbuster success Classmates by Lal Jose is the best of the lot in this category. Now, we can say that one more good campus thriller was added to that category by the debutant Sajith Jagadnandan, as he had become successful in giving us a very good thriller based on the campus life of 1980’s. He never gave us the feel that he is a newcomer, and controlled the plot like an experienced film maker. The screenplay was fresh and tight and the director had presented it will great skill. It had a smooth flow and filled moments which will make you thrilled to the core as well. The establishing of situations and characters were very good and it had really provided a strength for the narration.
Performance from the artists become the backbone of this movie. Dhyan Sreenivasan had given one of his best performances till date as Zachariah Pothan and he looked really matured as that character. Aju Varghese had stolen the show at many parts in this movie along with Deepak Parambol, Chemban Vinod, Arjun Nanda Kumar, Sneha, Kottayam Pradeep, Renji Panicker, Maniyan Pillai Raju, Devan etc. The female lead characters were played by Prayaga Martin, Gayathri Suresh and Jewel Mary. All these three had done a great job as well in the movie by giving justice to the characters they got to play.
DOP by Satheesh Kuruppu was brilliant as his visuals created the mood of the changing periods successfully. Bijipal’s music also helped the movie to create the desired effect on the viewer, as a thriller. Renjan Abraham had edited the flick and he had done a very good job with his cuts as well.
In total, Ore Mukham is a very good campus thriller, which has all the elements to entertain you. If you are a lovers of thrillers, then it is the one for you. It is a movie that offers you something fresh and you will like it as well.
