Meen Kuzhampum Mann Paanaiyum Review

Meen Kuzhampum Mann Paanaiyum is the debut film of Kalidas Jayaram as hero, who is the son of popular South Indian Actor Jayaram. This Tamil Film is written and directed by Amudeshwar and the flick has been produced by Dushyanth Ram Kumar. It is a Fantasy comedy movie in which Prabhu, Urvashi, Ashna Zaveri and Pooja Kumar also playing important characters. Ulaga Nayakan Kamala Hasan had made a guest appearance in this movie as well. The film got great attention before the release through its promo trailer and songs.

The plot of the movie revolves around a father and son, named Annamalai and Karthik, played by Prabhu and Kalidas Jayaram. Annamalai is a Tamilian who came to Malaysia and he is running a restaurant named Meen Kuzhampum Man Paanaiyum, which is famous for its Fish Curry served in mud pot. He loves his son Karthik so much, who is a college boy who leads a happy go lucky kind of life. Karthik is too busy in his college life and romantic affair that he had no time to talk with his father and Annamalai is very concerned about that. While things were going like that way, they happen to meet a sage, who is introduced to them by one of their family friend. The sage works a magic act, which turns the life of father and son upside down in a hilarious manner.// We can say that Amudeshwar had succeeded in giving us a fun filled family entertainer which has something good to offer to us. The screenplay by him was decent and it moved forward in an entertaining and smooth manner without any lag. He had included all elements in the screenplay to make the audience entertained while sticking to the core of the plot, which is the emotional bonding between a father and son. It has comedy, action, sentiments, romance etc to make the audience engaged till the very end.

Kalidas Jayaram had made a very good debut through this film as he had really impressed all with his performance as the flamboyant Karthik. His performance seems effortless and he really become successful in convincing the audience about the emotional conflicts through which the character went through. The highlight of the films is the performance of Prabhu. He really given a stunning performance as Annamalai and his performance in emotional scenes were just incredible to say the least. Ashna who played Pavithra, Pooja who played Mala and Urvashi who played the mother character of Pavithra also did a great job. Kamala Hasan’s cameo was exciting as well who came as the sage who performs the magic act in this film.

The DOP from Lakshman was good as he provided colorful frames for the movie. D Imman’s music was also decent and at times we felt that it could have been better. Richard Kevin edited the movie and he did a fine job as well.

In Total, Meen Kuzhampum Mann Paanayum is a complete fun filled family entertainer which will make you laugh and relax inside the cinema hall. If you love fun movies, then this one is for you. Go For it.
